JJSB RunDate 16072: Knocked down by the flu...

It's been over a week now since my last run.  I ran last Thursday and on Friday afternoon, I started feeling like I was low on energy and before I knew it, the flu was upon me.  I spent the entire last weekend laid up in bed feeling worse than I have in a very long time.   At least I can be thankful that I never threw up.  But the muscle and joint aches!  OH!  THE MUSCLE AND JOINT ACHES!  Around the clock, popping ibuprofen every few hours to take the edge off.
I finally returned to work on Tuesday but every minute of every hour the remainder of the week at work was a challenge of perseverance.  I felt that bad.  And here we are on Saturday afternoon, over a week since this sickness started, and I still feel like shit.
And I'm frustrated.
There were a few times today that I considered just going running irregardless of how I'm feeling.  But each time, my stomach lurched and instead of heading out to run, I headed to the bathroom instead for another bout of "fun".
So, I'm hoping against all odds that tomorrow, I'll be able to get out and go for a run.  Because I really need to be out by myself.  I need some solitude.  I need some time away from barking dogs who are digging up the backyard and then tracking mud into the house.  I need to feel like I'm doing something, ANYTHING, in my life that matters.  I NEED TO FEEL BETTER.  When will I feel better?
